Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski is targeting to surpass his goal tally from last season in the 2024/25 season. Lewandowski has scored four goals in his first four games this season and is confident he can score more than 30 goals for the Catalan giants.
"Of course I want to score more goals than last season, that's for sure. But of course it would be a target to score more than 30 goals. I don't know, maybe 35. It also depends on the team. So I hope they give me a lot of opportunities to score goals," he told reporters quoted from Barcablaugranes, Monday (2/9/2024).
The Polish player said he has changed his mentality a little now because he is still recovering the strength he lost last season.
"I will give everything this season," he continued.
The veteran striker also spoke about his reunion with coach Hansi Flick after previously working together at Bayern Munich.
"Flick and I won everything in football. I scored a lot of goals, but as you know, the team that was there was perfect. With Hansi, we played very attacking football," he said.
"We tried to control the ball as quickly as possible and we also scored a lot of goals because we focused on playing more offensively and scoring more goals. We will try to play more offensively, score more goals and concede less," Lewandowski concluded.
